CLEARWATER — Countryside Country Club has settled a lawsuit brought by three Pinellas County golfers who said they drank from a club water cooler tainted with urine and feces.

Chris, Greg and John Tischner said they became ill after drinking from the contaminated cooler on July 18, 2009.

Chris Tischner, 24, a student at St. Petersburg College, developed a rash, experienced fatigue and had trouble sleeping. Greg Tischner, 47, a sales engineer who lives in Oldsmar, experienced nausea and had a fever. John Tischner, 74, a retired journalist who lives in Dunedin, had a fever and chills. All were placed on antibiotics.

A Clearwater police officer who was called to the golf course confirmed the presence of urine and feces, according to the suit, which was filed March 26 in Pinellas-Pasco Circuit Court.

A settlement was reached Tuesday. The terms and conditions are confidential, said Clearwater attorney George Tragos, who represented the Tischners.

"The three clients," he said, "are very happy."
