ST. PETERSBURG — A woman is accused of stabbing her girlfriend in the back during an argument over another woman.
Cedrina J. Wright, 28, of St. Petersburg was arrested Monday on a charge of attempted second-degree murder. She remained in the Pinellas County jail Wednesday afternoon in lieu of $100,000 bail.
The incident occurred early Saturday at Chamera Bowman's apartment, 2583 Lynn Lake Circle S. A friend of Bowman's told police she was asleep in the apartment when she heard a banging noise about 5 a.m. She got up and saw Bowman, 26, and Wright arguing in the living room.
Wright accused Bowman of having a relationship with the friend, police said, and pulled a knife. Wright stabbed Bowman in the back, hitting her aorta and coming within an inch of her heart, police said.
Wright left the apartment, police said, and Bowman was taken to St. Anthony's Hospital.
