Briefly

Grand Horizons, one of Zephyrhills' senior residential subdivisions, announces that construction of its new state-of-the-art community center is well under way.

After some delays and with all the necessary building permits now issued, the community center should be ready in about six months, given reasonable cooperation from the weather.

The new center will have innovative, practical, low-maintenance features such as solar panels to heat the swimming pool and an oxygen-generating system instead of chlorine to keep the pool clean.

When complete, the center can serve as a hurricane shelter for residents, and will be equipped with a commercial kitchen and backup generator.
