NEW PORT RICHEY — Sportszone 2 will host the Fallen Officers and Firefighters Inline Hockey Tournament on Nov. 6 and 7. The tournament will benefit the families of Jeffrey Kocab and David Curtis, the two Tampa officers killed in the line of duty earlier this year.

"It started last year after (Tampa Police Cpl.) Mike Roberts was killed," Sportszone 2 owner Rob Gallahan said. "After this, Ken Petrillo came to me again and said we should do it again. We had just started thinking maybe we wouldn't have to do it this year 'cause it had been a good year, but then these two officers were killed. We have an account set up for donations, and we'll be doing our best to raise funds to help the families."

The event will include three divisions of play. Participants must be 16 or older and will have their choice between the competitive or recreational division. Law enforcement/firefighters will have their own division. There is no admission charge for spectators. Food, raffle tickets and T-shirts will be available.

Those interested in participating either as a team or individually can call Ken Petrillo at (727) 808-8453 or Rob Gallahan at (727) 919-4669 for information.
