Spring Hill man killed after car hits deer, fence
A 48-year-old Spring Hill man died in a single-vehicle wreck Tuesday morning on Culbreath Road, south of Brooksville, according to the Florida Highway Patrol. Authorities said James H. Waddy was headed south on Culbreath, just north of the Hernando-Pasco county line, about 7:10 a.m. when his four-door 1995 Toyota struck a deer in the middle of the road. After Waddy's vehicle hit the deer, the car left the road and struck a fence and a large tree. Waddy was pronounced dead at the scene. Officials said Waddy was wearing a seat belt.
Mentoring center open house today
A ribbon-cutting and open house will take place at noon today at the For Each 1 Reach 1 Mentoring Program facility, 7284 Sunshine Grove Road, west of Brooksville. The event includes free food, drinks and desserts. There will also be a yard sale, 50-50 raffle and giveaways. For more information, call (352) 556-2768.
