Quaker meeting: The Religious Society of Friends meets for worship at 10 a.m. Sundays at 1502 W Sligh Ave. Call (813) 253-3244.

Frank Thomas and Darryl Wise: Concerts in the UU Dome presents a double bill with Frank Thomas and Darryl Wise at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Unitarian Universalist Church of Tampa, 11400 Morris Bridge Road. Frank Thomas is known as the patriarch of Florida Folk Music. His song Cracker Cowman is a favorite among Florida folk music fans. Darryl Wise learned his "finger pick'n" guitar style from Gamble Rogers. They look forward to sharing a stage. The cost is $12 in advance or $15 at the door. Call (813) 988-8188.

Kozmik String Quartet: The Kozmik String Quartet will perform the music of Mendelssohn, Vaughan Williams and Shostakovich for the first annual concert series at 3 p.m. Sunday at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 501 S Dale Mabry Highway. Meditation: A class featuring an introduction to meditation in the Kadampa Buddhist tradition from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday at Angel Heart New Age Gifts, 3401 Henderson Blvd., No. H. Tikvah Talk: The monthly Tikvah Talk, a workshop from Tampa's Jewish Family Services, will focus on a teaching method known as "task analysis" from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at 13009 Community Campus Drive. The workshop is geared toward parents, caregivers and teachers of children with special needs. Participants will receive hands-on training for teaching procedures and error correction procedures using role-play, visuals and video clips. RSVP is preferred, but not required. Saints and Greats: Nelson Mandela: The Rev. Bobby Musengwa, a native of South Africa will discuss the life of Nelson Mandela, the country's first democratically elected black president and a crusader for human rights, from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the Franciscan Center, 3010 N Perry Ave. The cost is $20. St. Joseph Church Fall Festival: The four-day festival featuring carnival rides, games, kiddie rides, entertainment and ethnic foods begins at 5 p.m. Thursday and runs through Sunday at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 3012 W Cherry St. There will also be a rummage sale Saturday and Sunday.
