WESLEY CHAPEL – A brawl between two senior citizens Sunday afternoon nearly turned deadly when one man wielded a steel furniture dolly as a weapon, Pasco deputies said.

Bill Dean Brothers, 65, began arguing with an unidentified 79-year-old man at the victim's home on Camerton Road, deputies said. They didn't say what started the fight, though the men appear to live on neighboring lots.

When the man ordered Brothers to leave, Brothers jumped him and threw him to the ground, punching him repeatedly in the face, a Pasco County Sheriff's Office arrest report states. As the man lay on the ground, Brothers lifted the dolly above his head, shouted that he would kill the man and swung, the report said. He missed, and the man was able to get away.

The victim escaped with injuries to his face, head, back and hands that deputies said were not life-threatening.

Brothers, who has a 2002 conviction for aggravated battery, was charged with battery on a person over 65 and aggravated assault on a person over 65. He remains at the Land O'Lakes jail in lieu of $15,000 bail.
