Enjoy arts, fun at seafood fest this weekend
John's Pass Village and Boardwalk, 150 John's Pass Boardwalk in Madeira Beach, is hosting the annual Seafood Festival from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday. The festival includes a fine arts and crafts show, fresh local seafood, a fish-cutting competition, an oyster-eating contest, a haunted house, trick-or-treating, music and a street dance. Reception set for jazz photo exhibit
The Dr. Carter G. Woodson African American Museum will host an opening reception for "Jazz on the Deuces" at 6:30 p.m. Sunday. The photography exhibit will feature many jazz greats who served in the U.S. State Department's Jazz Ambassadors program, including local legends Al Downing, Buster Cooper, John Lamb and Ernie Calhoun. The photographs, many by St. Petersburg Times photographers, captured the jazz legends performing in and around the greater Tampa Bay area. The opening reception also will include a Jazz Jam in the museum's Legacy Garden. Donation: $10. The museum is at 2240 Ninth Ave. S. Call (727) 323-1104.

Madrigal ensembles gather Friday at SPC
The SPC Madrigalians hosts its annual gathering of area madrigal ensembles for an evening of classic and modern vocal treasures at 7:30 p.m. Friday at the St. Petersburg College Music Center, 6605 Fifth Ave. N, St. Petersburg.
