The Cystic Fibrosis Foundation's Tampa chapter is hosting a Eurand CF Cycle for Life Tour event Saturday in New Port Richey. The 17 city, cross country tour is raising money for cystic fibrosis research and is partnered with Eurand Pharmaceuticals.
"The events are having success with getting people that have not been associated with the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation in the past becoming involved," said Pat Warbritton, executive director of the Tampa chapter. "We've never put on a bike event, and we've been working on this for about a year. Right now we have about 60 riders from all different areas, and I'm just looking forward to seeing some of these people I've been in contact with out there and having fun."
The event will start and finish at Longleaf Town Center in New Port Richey and include a scenic route available in a 25-mile ride, a 55-mile ride or a 85-mile ride. Registration starts at 8 a.m. and the ride will begin at 9 a.m.
