TAMPA — Police identified the Wesley Chapel woman killed in a Thursday night crash involving a HARTline bus and two other vehicles as 46-year-old Sonia Sofia De Jesus Serrano.
The other person injured in the crash was identified as 37-year-old Daniel M. Ray of Spring Hill. He was in stable condition at Tampa General Hospital early Friday.
The crash occurred just before 9:30 p.m. at Nebraska and Sligh avenues.
A Nissan Xterra driven by Ray was going south on Nebraska when it collided with a Toyota Matrix driven by Serrano going east on Sligh, said Tampa Fire Rescue. The impact sent the Matrix into the side of the bus stopped on Nebraska.
Ray was taken to Tampa General Hospital with serious injuries.
The bus held 12 passengers and the driver. None were injured.
Fire Rescue said the gas tank from the Matrix ruptured, closing the intersection for several hours early Friday.
