Body of elderly woman found near causeway
The body of an elderly woman was found late Wednesday night floating near the Dunedin Causeway, officials said. The Pinellas County Sheriff's Office reports no signs of foul play or struggle. Workers at Royal Stewart Arms, a waterfront condominium complex, reported the body about 11:55 p.m. at 1 Royal Stewart Parkway. Identification of the woman was pending. Her body was fully clothed, deputies said.

NAACP branch electing officers
The NAACP Clearwater/Upper Pinellas Branch will hold its election of officers from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday. The election will also include selecting at-large members to the executive committee. The election will take place at the Martin Luther King Jr. Center at 1201 Douglas Ave.

There are 22 municipal elections in March, with registration in process for more than 100 elective offices. In preparation, the Pinellas County Democratic Party will have a training workshop for aspiring candidates from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the Holiday Inn Select, 3535 Ulmerton Road, Clearwater. Countryside High plans production
Tickets are on sale for Pajama Game, which will be presented by Countryside High School's drama department. It will be performed at 3 p.m. and 7 p.m. Nov. 19 and 7 p.m. Nov. 20 at the school, 3000 State Road 580, Clearwater. Tickets are $12 for adults and $7 for students and seniors. Entire weekend to honor veterans
Veterans will be honored during the Tarpon Springs Chamber of Commerce's Veterans Tribute Weekend in Craig Park, 5 Beekman Way. It will take place from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday and from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday. A Veterans Day parade is scheduled at 11 a.m. Saturday through the downtown historic district. The parade route will be from Orange Street to Ring Avenue and then onto Tarpon Avenue. The procession will end at Craig Park. Opening ceremonies in the park will start at 1 p.m. Speakers will include U.S. Rep. Gus Bilirakis and Greg Amira, who survived being buried under World Trade Center rubble twice on Sept. 11, 2001. Stop smoking hypnotism for $49
Tarpon Springs Elks 1719, 237 S Pinellas Ave., will host a benefit for the American Heart Association starting at 7 p.m. Wednesday.
