TAMPA — A 7-year-old boy injured in a crash that killed his half-brother Friday evening has been released from the hospital.

Damitri Scarberry is no longer listed as a patient at St. Joseph's Hospital in Tampa, a hospital spokeswoman said Sunday.

Damitri, his sister Falynn Carter, 9, and his half-brother Cadence Walters, 5, were riding in a sport utility vehicle driven by their mother, 25-year-old Kimberly G. Scarberry, when one of the vehicle's right tires blew out around 6:45 p.m. on Interstate 75 in Pasco County.

The SUV flipped several times before coming to a stop in the highway median, according to the Florida Highway Patrol, which is investigating the wreck.

Walters, who was not wearing a seat belt or other safety restraint, was pronounced dead at St. Joseph's.

Kimberly Scarberry and Falynn were also treated and released from St. Joseph's.

The family is from St. Petersburg.
