Showers and thunderstorms were expected to dampen the first day of school and Election Day.
The storms are expected to bring up to three-fourths of an inch of rain Tuesday after having dumped several inches on parts of the Tampa Bay area over the past few days.
Showers and thunderstorms are most likely after 11 a.m. The chance of rain is 60 percent.
Minor flooding is also possible, according to Bay News 9 meteorologist Diane Kacmarik.
"It won't take much to cause ponding of water on the ground," she said.
The weather could lower voter turnout and pose challenges for parents and students on the first day of school.
A flood warning was in effect for the Alafia River at Lithia in Hillsborough County until 1 p.m. Tuesday. National Weather Service meteorologists don't expect the river to crest and might remove the warning before then.
