TAMPA — A supervisor for Tampa Fire Rescue has been demoted after his son was linked to a St. Petersburg home invasion this summer where the father's weapon was fired.
Milton Jenkins, 44, lost his supervisor status and instead will work as a fire inspector, officials announced during a 4 p.m. news conference today. He also is no longer allowed to carry a gun.
The ordeal began in July when his son, Adrien D. Jenkins, 21, drove an acquaintance Eric V. Johnson, 18, to the home of a St. Petersburg man whom Johnson had befriended a month earlier at a Tampa club.
