Two banks robbed two hours apart
Two bank robberies that happened within hours of each other Tuesday afternoon are under investigation. Pasco County Sheriff's Office detectives are working to determine if they were related. No injuries were reported. The first heist happened at 1:30 p.m. at Regions Bank, 22645 State Road 54 in Land O'Lakes. The robber showed a teller a note demanding money and fled on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash. He is described as a white man, between 20 and 30 years old, clean shaven, wearing a gray baseball hat, gray hooded sweatshirt, dark jeans and dark shoes. He had sunglasses resting on the top of his hat. The second robbery happened at 3:30 p.m. at a Synovus Bank at 2145 Cypress Ridge Blvd. in Wesley Chapel. The robber demanded money and fled with an undisclosed amount of cash in a golden-brown 1999-2000 model Ford pickup that had a camper top matching the truck, a short bed and no hubcaps. The suspect is described as a Hispanic male, late 20s to early 30s, with a shaved head and a goatee. He wore glasses and was well dressed — a dark blazer with a light blue shirt and a cream colored tie, light colored pants and dress shoes.
