Eric Goody, 26, address unknown, was arrested on five charges of commercial robbery.
TAMPA — A man is accused of five robberies at four local businesses this month.
Eric Goody, 26, address unknown, was arrested in five commercial robberies.
Police said Goody went to Good Taste China, 8221 Florida Ave., around 10 p.m. Tuesday and demanded money with his face covered with a white cloth.
Police connected this robbery to four previous robberies, two at China Garden, 5715 N Nebraska Ave., one at a Walgreens, 2115 E Hillsborough Ave., and another at a Family Dollar store, 6825 N 22nd St.
An officer eventually saw Goody because he matched the description of the man who robbed Good Taste China.
Police said Goody also was involved in an Aug. 11 robbery that was thwarted when 69-year-old Vietnam veteran Clifford Leo Bisek chased him out of a Walgreens with his cane.
Goody told Bay News 9 he had no choice but to turn to crime.
"I was living on the streets," he said. "My girl was pregnant. I had to provide somehow."
