Hurricane Danielle strengthened overnight after weakening most of Tuesday, according to hurricane forecasters.
The second hurricane of the season, Danielle was a Category 1 hurricane early Wednesday with sustained winds around 84 mph. Category 1 hurricanes have winds between 74 and 95 mph.
Hurricane-force winds extend 30 mph from its center
Forecasters said Danielle was expected to strengthen over the next two days.
The south-central Atlantic hurricane isn't currently threatening any land and is expected to turn north (map). The hurricane's projected path takes it near Bermuda.
The storm is moving west-northwest around 17 mph
Another low-pressure system expected to develop into a tropical depression is building off the coast of Africa.
Hurricane forecasters said the system a 90 percent chance of becoming a tropical cyclone in the next two days.
Its name would be Earl.
It's currently moving west-northwest at 15 mph.
