TAMPA — On this, day six of the Bayshore rape trial, prosecutors have rested their case against 31-year-old Luis Munuzuri-Harris, accused of posing as a cop to rob and rape a 28-year-old woman.
Harris will take the stand Wednesday afternoon, meaning the defendant who questioned the alleged victim in the case will himself be subject to cross-examination.
Harris, who represented himself for three days before declaring that choice a "tremendous error in judgment," has done anything but remain silent.
He spoke to detectives, in recorded statements jurors watched Tuesday and Wednesday.
He reached out to reporters, calling them, inviting them to jail, even bursting into tears in court after his lawyers didn't let him pass one a note.
He gave the opening statements in his own trial.
Now, he will have to answer the questions of a prosecutor.
