TAMPA — Defendant Luis Munuzuri-Harris began testifying Wednesday afternoon in the sixth day of a Hillsborough trial, disputing allegations that he posed as an undercover cop, handcuffed a woman and raped her.
Harris, 31, said he was on his way to the Hard Rock Cafe that July night when he saw the woman motorist hit the curb along Bayshore Boulevard.
"You need to get out of the road," he recalled yelling.
He said the woman, 28, pulled over and he asked if she was okay. She seemed "groggy" and "spaced out," he testified under questioning by his public defender. He said they went to the Tiny Tap together and then, briefly, the Hard Rock Cafe.
"One thing led to another," he said. "We ended up kissing ..."
He said that after consensual sex, they exchanged phone numbers.
