TAMPA — The manager of a Radiant store walked away with $25,000 from the business's safe, according to Tampa police.
Gordon Moore, 49, of 2115 W Clifton St. in Tampa, was authorized by the store owner to take weekend deposits to the bank on Monday, police reports said.
But when he came into the Radiant at 4301 W Hillsborough Ave. just after midnight Jan. 3, the cashier became suspicious.
Moore emptied the contents of a safe into a box as he talked on his phone and sent text messages, surveillance footage showed. Then he left and didn't return for his shift the next morning, the police report said.
He called and text messaged store employees, telling them he had taken the money while he was under the influence of alcohol and cocaine, the report said.
