ZEPHYRHILLS — Dallas "Cash" Hancock's plan had a good payoff, authorities said.

The 24-year-old managed to get $400 out of a carwash coin machine by sticking paper currency in and getting change out, according to Zephyrhills police. But Hancock, according to his arrest report, attached a piece of tape to the bill, so he was able to put it in and pull it back out numerous times.

The theft occurred Aug. 24, and a witness at the scene identified the thief to police as "Cash." An officer later contacted Hancock at his home at 5527 12th St., where he was arrested.

He faces charges of grand theft and molestation of a coin-operated machine. He remained Monday at the Pasco County jail in lieu of $1,000 bail.
