Deltona Elementary: The PTA is having its first general meeting at 6:30 p.m. Sept. 30 to hold elections for secretary and vice president of ways and means. There will be entertainment and refreshments.
Hernando Christian Academy: The school will celebrate its anniversary with a Legacy Dinner/Auction on Oct. 9 at the school. For information and tickets, call (352) 796-0616.
Hernando County Student Parent Expo: An opportunity fair/college night is 6 to 8 p.m. Sept. 16 in the Nature Coast Technical High School cafeteria, 4057 California St., Brooksville. Hernando County juniors and seniors are invited. Representatives from colleges, universities, technical schools, the military and local businesses will help students plan for the future. Scholarship information also will be available.
Hernando Youth Initiative: The third annual Summit for Youth, sponsored by the Greater Hernando County Chamber of Commerce Education Committee and Hernando County Education Foundation, is 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Sept. 30 at Faith Presbyterian Church, 200 Mount Fair Ave., Brooksville. Seating is limited to the first 300 who respond by e-mail to HernandoYouthInitiative@yahoo.com. RSVP deadline is Sept. 28 for the free event, a networking opportunity for businesses, schools, social service providers, faith-based organizations, governmental agencies and community members committed to youth.

• There will be a campuswide Title I parent night from 6 to 8:30 p.m. Sept. 16 for grades 3 to 5. The kindergarten-second grade Title I parent night is Sept. 23.
Springstead High: There will be an open house at 6:15 p.m. Tuesday. An opening session in the gym is followed by a mini school day. During each 15-minute class period, the teacher will present an overview and other information.
Weeki Wachee High: Back to School night is at 6 p.m. Tuesday in the gymnasium. Parents can follow their children's schedules, meet staffers, schedule conferences and tour the campus. Call (352) 797-7029.
