Springstead High School
Marching band competing for $50,000 grant
Pepsi has chosen the school's Marching Eagle Brigade to compete for a $50,000 grant in the Pepsi Refresh Project for September.
This grant will let the band maintain and buy equipment, instruments and uniforms, and pay for instructors, transportation and scholarships. The band's goal is to continue to place among the state's top five high school marching bands, but travel to competitions is expensive.
Winners are determined by votes. To support the band, vote at refresheverything.com/helpshsmarchingeagles. Voting continues until Sept. 30. Vote once on the website and once by texting 102376 to 73774 from your cell phone. For information, call band director Richard Dasher at (352) 797-7010, ext. 223.
