Peppers and shallots get top billing Wednesday on a table of produce at the Clearwater Farmers Market.
The Clearwater Farmers Market kicked off its season Wednesday, but there are several other farmers markets that have opened or are about to open for the season in mid and north Pinellas County. For a look at what the area has to offer, see the list below.
Crossroads Farmers Market
Where: Curlew Road and Belcher Road, Palm Harbor.
When: Began Oct. 3 and continues every Sunday through April 24, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Sunday Morning Farmers Market
Where: Tarpon Ave. and Alt. U.S. 19 (Pinellas Ave.), Tarpon Springs.
When: Begins Sunday and continues every Sunday through May 29, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Features: live music and fresh produce, including offerings from local vendors, prepared foods, gourmet baked goods, greenery, seafood, hand-crafted goods, and a variety of other items. Presented by Downtown Turnaround Inc.

Clearwater Farmers Market
Where: Cleveland Street and N Fort Harrison Ave., Clearwater.
When: Began Wednesday Oct. 20 and continues every Wednesday through May 18, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Features: fresh produce, cheese, fresh baked goods, flowers and plants. Vendors also sell ready-to-eat food and drinks. Free two-hour parking at Garden Avenue Garage with ticket validation (see market manager).
