Social media author to speak at luncheon
The Clearwater Regional Chamber of Commerce will hold the Brighthouse Blomberg Luncheon with author Patrick Schwerdtfeger on Thursday from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Intercontinental Tampa, 4860 W Kennedy Blvd. Tampa. Teen short stories wanted for contest
Attention, teens. Don't forget to submit your work for the Teen Read Short Story Contest by Sunday for a chance to win the grand prize, a $75 gift card. Stories must be 1,000 words or less and typed. Topics should be personal stories or original fiction. Entries will be judged in two categories: 6-8 grades and 9-12 grades. Prizes will be awarded to the winners in each grade category. First place will receive a $75 gift card and runner-up will receive a $50 gift card. Winners will be announced Nov. 30. Drop off your entry at any of the Clearwater Public Library branches. Computer classes for seniors to start
The Hale Senior Activity Center, 330 Douglas Ave., will offer computer classes beginning Tuesday. The class schedule is as follows: The beginner class will be held from 9 a.m. to noon; the intermediate class will be held from 1-4 p.m. The session includes eight classes. Artists sought for Hoskins festival
The Greater Palm Harbor Area Chamber of Commerce is accepting artist applications for the Bill and Louise Hoskins 36th Annual Fine Arts and Crafts Festival. It will be held Dec. 4-5 in downtown Palm Harbor along Florida Avenue. Application cost: $175 plus a jury fee of $25.
