Pasco County operates eight congregate dining centers for adults ages 60 and older, funded in part by the Older Americans Act. There is no charge for the meals, but donations are encouraged. The county also delivers meals to homes of the elderly through two programs: The Elderly Nutrition Program, also funded in part by the Older Americans Act, delivers meals at no charge, but donations are encouraged. The Meals on Wheels program requires a registration fee and a $6 fee per meal. Monday: Lasagna casserole, spinach, Italian vegetable medley, whole grain wheat bread with margarine, peaches, low-fat milk.
Tuesday: Barbecue pork riblet, Lyonnaise potatoes, green peas, whole grain wheat bread with margarine, chunky cinnamon apples, low-fat milk.
Wednesday: Oven baked fish filet with tartar sauce, cheesy grits, tomatoes and okra, whole grain wheat bread, fresh fruit, low-fat milk.
Thursday: Vegetable soup, grilled chicken breast patty with chicken gravy, mashed potatoes, broccoli cuts, whole grain wheat bread with margarine, oatmeal raisin cookie, low-fat milk.
Friday: Meatballs with brown gravy, rice pilaf, mixed vegetables, whole grain wheat bread with margarine, fresh fruit, low-fat milk.
