ST. PETERSBURG — An 77-year-old man was robbed at gunpoint by after getting out of his vehicle in his apartment complex parking lot Tuesday night, police said.
The incident happened about 9:30 p.m. at 209 NE Lincoln Circle N.
Police said a man approached the victim and asked for spare change.
The elderly man said he didn't have any. At some point, the suspect demanded money and pulled out a handgun.
A second man, who was sitting in a nearby SUV, came out of the vehicle and started rifling through his pockets.
The men took a cell phone, wallet and his keys. They also shoved the elderly man against an apartment door when he told them he couldn't get on his knees.
The two men then fled in the SUV.
